Which Is the Best Free Astrocartography Chart for You?
We read the public pages of five astrocartography sites on November 7, 2026, and set what each offers for free next to our own.
How it works
Pick what matters to you
Decide whether you want the most map features, a direct city answer, or a site that holds your other charts as well.Use the same birth details everywhere
Enter one date, time and place on each site you test, so that any differences come from the sites and not from your input.Compare one city
Check one place on each site and note which lines appear and how far away they are. That shows quickly whether two maps agree.
The best free astrocartography chart depends on what you want from it. On the public pages we checked, astrologylines.com gives away the most features with no account, including line crossings and city comparison. Our map is built for people who want a direct answer: a first city with reasons, and a first city for love, career and home. astrochart.co and astrocarto.org both pair a free map with paid extras, while astrocarto.net puts several planets' lines behind a paid plan. Each site is good at something different.
Side by side
Everything here comes from the sites' own public pages, read on November 7, 2026. These are their claims and not our test results, and we did not go through anyone's checkout. Prices and features change, so check before you rely on any of this.

| This site | All 12 bodies with four lines each, first city with reasons, first city for four goals, any-place lookup, a relocation chart, your rising sign for any city, bands for an uncertain birth time, and line crossings (parans). No account. | City report, one-time |
We could not check Astro-Seek. Its astrocartography page returned a 403 error to our request on November 7, 2026, so we say nothing about its features here. People often mention it, so you may want to look for yourself.
Which one fits which person
You want the most free features. On its own description, astrologylines.com offers the widest free set of the sites above, including parans, local space lines and a couples view. It also says the calculation runs in your browser, so your birth details are not sent to a server.
You want an answer more than a map. That is what this site was built for. You get one city with its reasons first, then the lines. If reading lines is the part you were hoping to skip, start here.
You want many astrology tools under one roof. astro.com describes itself as one of the largest astrology portals, and astrochart.co also has birth charts and compatibility pages. Both make sense if you plan to do more than look at a map.
You want AI-written readings. astrocarto.net and astrocarto.org both centre their paid plans on AI readings and credits.
You care which engine is behind the map. astrocarto.net says Swiss Ephemeris, astrochart.co says "Swiss Ephemeris-grade" positions from JPL DE431, and astrocarto.org says it uses astronomy-engine and not Swiss Ephemeris. astrologylines.com publishes tests against NASA JPL Horizons. Our own tests are on How we calculate.
Where this site falls short
You should know these before you choose us.
- No local space lines. Local space is a different way of drawing lines that some astrologers use, and we do not draw it.
- Flat map only. There is no globe view, which astrologylines.com offers.
- No side-by-side city comparison. You check cities one at a time.
- No couples view. You cannot put a second person's lines on the map.
- The full ranked lists are paid. astrologylines.com lists best places by theme among its free features.
- The calculation runs on our server. We do not keep your details afterwards unless you sign in, but a site that calculates in your browser never receives them at all.
- Little help with no birth time at all. Without a time, we draw an illustration for noon and do not rank cities. If you know it roughly, Map options shade where each line could fall, up to two hours either way.
- New. This site has a short track record.
Where this site does well
- It gives you a first city with its reasons in plain English, and a first city for love, career, home and overall.
- It shows the real distance to each line within 1,000 km of any place.
- It handles old daylight saving rules automatically.
- It publishes its ranking formula and weights, so you can see why a city came first.
How to test any site yourself
- Use one birth date, time and place on every site.
- Check that each one converted your time zone correctly, particularly for older birth years.
- Check which drawing method it uses. The two common ones, in mundo and Zodiacal, can disagree by nothing for the Sun and by well over 1,000 km for Pluto on our map.
- Look up one city and compare the line distances. Small gaps are normal. A large gap usually means a different time or method.
- See what you are actually asked for: an account, an email, or a payment, and at what point.
FAQ
Which astrocartography site is best?
There is no single best one. On public pages, astrologylines.com lists the most free features, and this site is built around giving you a direct city answer. If you already keep your other charts on another site, staying there may be simplest. Try two with the same birth details.
Is any astrocartography chart completely free?
Several draw a map at no cost. Most also sell something on top, such as reports, credits or a subscription, and some keep certain planets' lines in a paid plan. Check what you actually get for free before you spend time entering your details.
Do I have to sign up to get a chart?
On astrologylines.com, astrochart.co, astrocarto.net and this site, the pages say you can draw the map without an account. astro.com's page asks new visitors to enter birth data and create a user profile.
Is there a good astrocartography app?
You do not need to install anything to use this site, because it runs in your phone or computer browser. astrologylines.com says the same of its map. We did not review the mobile apps sold in app stores, so we cannot compare them here.
Why do two free sites show different lines?
The usual reasons are a different birth time or time zone, or a different drawing method. Differences in the calculation itself tend to be far smaller. Our page on how we calculate gives real numbers for each of these causes.
Are these comparisons up to date?
They reflect the public pages we read on November 7, 2026, and we have not tested each site's paid features. Sites change their features and prices often, so look at a site's own pricing page before you pay for anything.

How to Read Your Map
